About: Benedicta Bertau

I am Benedicta Bertau. In my 39th year, life (and the US immigration system) asked me to change direction. I am currently on a sabbatical that has so far taken me from Jamaica to central Europe and now Italy, where I have decided to settle down in Venice after journeys to Assisi and Sicily. My time now is dedicated to exploring the art and heart of being WITH THE FLOW. By training and experience a theater director, actor, clown and sometime Producing Artistic Director/Director for Training & Outreach for Walking the dog Theater, I was born in Germany into a French/German family. I am also a trained Waldorf teacher (Emerson College, England), have a B.A. in Dance/Eurythmy from Helicon College in The Hague, Netherlands. I trained in Physical Theater in Chile, the Chekhov Acting Method in Berlin, Germany, and Clowning in the Netherlands. I speaks five languages fluently, and am now adding Italian as the sixth. But beyond all accomplishments and biographical data lies the fact that as I proceed into my life I learn that I know nothing but the precious moments of seeing life and people through as open and warm a gaze as I can give.
